THREAD VEIN TREATMENT
Facial thread veins (also known as spider veins, capillary veins, or broken veins) are tiny blood vessels which run close to the surface of the skin
They look like thin red or occasionally purple or blue lines.
They appear when blood vessels become enlarged which cause the veins to appear broken
The medical term for them is telangiectasia. There are a number of causes including overexposure to the sun, drastic changes in weather, excessive alcohol consumption, hormonal changes such as pregnancy, sudden changes in pressure such as severe vomiting or sneezing, if you have a job where you stand or sit for long periods, or they may simply be genetic.
The thread veins that are successfully treated are gone for good, but the treatment cannot prevent new veins appearing in the future.
It is not suitable for patients who have varicose veins (lumpy, wriggly veins) or for facial veins.
